 CleanApp 3: Start Screen
Compatible to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
CleanApp 3 has been tested successfully with Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard"
Why does Mac OS X need an Uninstaller?
Already on installation, and even more so during normal use, application programs and utilities under Mac OS X tend to create a multitude of files and folders all over the system: user settings, temporary and log files, …. Unfortunately, even removing software from the "Applications" folder won't eliminate those obsolete files, and they continue to waste precious space on your storage media.
Enter CleanApp and its »Logging Service«: without slowing down any of the installations it records, CleanApp creates a database, analyzing applications and their behaviour right from the start. At any given moment, you will be able to see whatever files a program uses.
CleanApp also keeps an eye on deletion processes. So, whenever you move an application to the Trash manually, you'll be greeted with an interactive dialogue to invoke a comprehensive list of all related files you might want to get rid of too.

Complete Uninstallation thanks to CleanApp's logging tool
Our unique Logging Service invariably monitors all data being created. This component debuted in CleanApp 2 and has been completely rewritten for this third release. Track down all changes programs caused on your system. This mechanism allows you to virtually "undo" also very complex installations at any given moment.
CleanApp 3 builds on »launchd«, Apple's recommended programming architecture for background processes, and allowed us to add another important improvement: you may shut down and even restart Logging at any moment during runtime, without the need to reboot your Mac. Along the way we dramatically improved CleanApp's efficiency. CleanApp 3 uses less memory and cpu cylces than its already hugely popular predecessor.
 CleanApp 3: Logging Service
United and strong
You have to start somewhere. Completely removing applications requires experience just like anything else. With no point of reference, deciding which files to keep and which to delete seems like an impossible task. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a more experienced user within reach you could ask?
 Join the CleanCommunity
Enter the brand new "CleanCommunity" feature in CleanApp 3.2. By means of the CleanCommunity, CleanApp is updated regularly with the latest information on which files are associated with an application and can therefore be deleted along with it. How does it work? This is where the community idea comes into play. If you allow it to, CleanApp transmits anonymized information about your deletions to the central database - stating which application was deleted and which files were removed in the process. All users will be able to profit from this knowledge afterwards and do their part with their own de-installations. Without extra effort, without any risk.
